More Information

Pools slated to open as per Mr. John Denny's input in mid April:

The three pools in the RAD parks are sure to open, as they should: Highland, Schenley, Riverview.

Note from phone, so sorry: The additional pools slated to open are: Moore, Sue Murray, Westwood, Bloomfield, McBride, Amand, Orbsby, Sheridan, Phillips, Cowley?. E.Hills, Homewood, McLs?,

The City of Pittsburgh has 31 outdoor swim pools and one indoor swim pool. Seems like SOS, mid-April 2004, is gearing for 16 total pools of which 13 are not with RAD funding.

Volunteers

The plan from the Foundations, might include NO VOLUNTEERS (period) at the swim pools. They said that this was a union issue. However, the lifeguards don't have any union issues. There are union issues with the Rec Centers however. So, some may have their wires crossed.

Rec Centers

The plan from the Foundation in mid-April was to have seven Rec Centers opened with contracts with nonprofit organizations.

PPS: Buy Local

Supporting our local schools with efforts and care is an "environmentally friendly" deed. Performing schools is important for marketing purposes. Citizens who depend on schools find this is a lifestyle business. No backsliding will be forgiven.
